Ok so last years we were so excited because we found a rototiller for $30 at a garage sale that worked. I know rite, one that worked for that price…. Well after tilling up a patch to plant our blueberries and didn’t use the tiller for the rest of the season.
So now it’s spring and time to do some tilling. I got almost done with tilling our garden patch and the motor fell apart. No joke it fell apart, pieces flew off of it. the engine rod boke throwing the rod through the side of the engine wall. She is done for, no coming back from this!
Well after posting on a Facebook gardeners group what happened and my sadness for the death of my tiller, someone informed me that a harbor freight motor will mount directly to the unit and should get me back up and going. What could this be true? No way, the rest of the tiller is fine it’s just the engine.
So the next day off to Harbor Freight I go and picked up a new motor for $99. I had to get a few in random parts from McLendon’s that ran about $20. Within 30 min we had a new motor installed and are back to tilling up our garden. This was amazing and got us up and going for way cheaper than buying a new tiller, because who is lucky enough to find 2 tillers for cheap? Not this guy! But now everything is working great and this motor should last us along time if I remember to keep it covered up and out of the rain!
So now our garden is tilled up and ready for planting. Check back to view our 2019 crops!
